Established in 2003, BedzRus is an online and offline retailer of beds, mattresses and related products, offering a wide range of brands at discounted prices. Customer experience is a key area for BedzRus and they have a great Feefo score to prove it.
Their objectives & targets
Due to a large increase in mobile traffic, BedzRus wanted to provide their customers with a more seamless mobile first experience. They had custom delivery option requirements and wanted to offer customers bundles of products as most wanted both a bed frame and mattress. BedzRus are proud of their customer reviews and also wanted to make these a more integral part of their website.
Success would be measured by an increase to their average order value and also an increased conversion rate, specifically for mobile users.
What we did
BedzRus was re-platformed from a combination of Lite Commerce and WordPress to Magento 2 Open Source, this involved migrating close to 4000 products to the new system. There were several custom developments for this project; a custom delivery system, based on customer postcode and product lead times. We also created a custom bundle section and utilised the Feefo extension to create a unique display of reviews.
The previous site had a separate mobile and desktop offered to users, we created a responsive site with a fresh look and feel based around their updated brand and made better use of their product imagery. We also introduced improved information for customers on the product page, such as a countdown to delivery, stock information, easy to find product dimensions and richer product content including 360º videos.
The new site achieved an improved mobile performance. Traffic numbers on mobile continued to increase after the new site went live seeing an increase year on year of 36%, with conversions on mobile increased by an impressive 174% year on year.
